You may optionally create your own subdomains. Not all Plesk login accounts allow domain administration so if you require the ability to administer your own subdomains, please e-mail support@neatworx.com to request this capability.
Subdomains are represented by prefixes to your existing domain name and may point to entirely different web-sites. As an example, for the domain “mycompany.com”, valid subdomains would be “service.mycompany.com” or “store.mycompany.com”.
To create a new subdomain for your own domain, follow these steps:
| a. | Login in to the control panel via PLESK. You should already have your login account and password. If you do not, please contact support@neatworx.com. If your domain is mycompany.com as an example, the URL to administrator your account via PLESK should be http://mycompany.com:8443/ |
| b. | Once logged into PLESK, click the “Home” icon on the left hand panel. You should see the domain name associated with your account listed at the bottom of your home view. If you have multiple domains registered with NeatWorx, multiple domains will be listed. |
| c. | Click on the name of the domain that you wish to create a subdomain for. As an example, click on “mycompany.com” if you wish to create a new domain called “store.mycompany.com”. |
| d. | Under the “Hosting” section, you should now see a “Subdomains” icon. Click on the Subdomains icon. |
| e. | Click on “Add New Subdomain”. |
| f. | Enter the name of your new subdomain. You can normally accept the defaults for all the other options before pressing OK. |
| g. | After this your subdomain will have been created. You will be able to access this domain via FTP. You newly created subdomain will be in the directory subdomain/domainname/httpdocs |
| h. | By placing an index.html or index.htm file in this account you will create an active web-site on the subdomain. |
