Resource Schedules

Top  Previous  Next

Resource schedules are only appropriate for "Resource Reservation" style events.

There are two different views of the resource schedule. Either may be appropriate depending on the nature of the schedule and the dates and times where resources are available to be booked.

Resource Schedule View #1

In the first view, the days of the week are represented as columns and the available times are the rows. This is the default view, and it works well when you have resources that can be booked during multiple days of the week. In this case we have made a single resource (Party Room) available during four time slots every Saturday on a weekly basis.

The URL to view this schedule is of the format:

http://guelphsaultos.ca/view_resource_reservations.php?program=Birthday%20Party%20Reservations

(the view_resource_reservations.php script takes a single argument which is the name of the program)

As with other dynamically constructed schedules, if a resource or facility is available for booking, it will show up as "Available" and a user can click on the time slot to proceed with registration. You can click on "Alternate View" to switch to the second representation of the schedule.

Resource Schedule View #2

This is the alternate view of the Resource Schedule. This view is more appropriate when we want the times across the top of the chart and the available dates as the rows. For the schedule below, where booking times are concentrated on a single day, this view is more efficient. The view below shows how the Administrator will see the schedule when logged in. (not the presence of the additional graphic icons on the display)

Administrators have the ability to see who is registered, edit a reservation, or remove a reservation against a resource. Administrators can also access convenience functions (using the wrench icon) to exclude dates from the schedule and setup different recurring resource reservation times. These same functions are visible in Resource Schedule View #1 when the administrator is logged in.
