A common use of resource reservation events are Birthday Party Bookings. In this type of booking we describe a schedule (same as a class schedule) that repeats weekly for a selectable number of weeks. Unlike class registrations, these registrations are "discrete" with each weekly registration being unrelated to the previous weeks registration. Resource reservations may apply to a variety of registration problems such as:
Resource reservation events in NeatClubs.COM project a schedule that users can click on to register events. The system keeps track of what times are still open and what times are booked.
Just as "exclude dates" can be used in classes to indicate facility closure dates or holidays, the same exclude dates interface can be used with resource reservation events to indicate that the facility is closed or the resource is unavailable. For convenience, when viewing the schedule logged in as an administrator, an option to "Exclude dates from schedule" is available as shown below.
You can click on the exclude dates from schedule view to exclude any dates you'd like. As an example, the setup of exclusion dates below reflects closures on December 22nd and 23rd and December 29th and 30th in the year 2007. The shaded dates reflect the dates that book able time slots have been scheduled. Sometimes for ease of setup and maintenance a resource reservation event may span multiple years. As a result the number of rows can be very long sometimes. Organizations that tend to change there schedule every year, are better to have a separate resource reservation event definitions for each year.
