Configuring Menu Buttons to display a photo collection Sometimes it’s useful to view a collection of related photos when a site visitors selects a menu option. Rather than needing to create a new web document, and insert photos repeatedly, NeatClubs provides a convenient way to generate a page showing a group of photos. For best results, the photo group that you display should contain photos of reasonably high resolution (at least 500 pixels in width). The steps involved in linking a menu item to a photo gallery are as follows: 1. Edit the menu contents by selecting “System Setup” / "Preferences" / “Menus” or click the edit icon that appears near the relevant menu while logged in as an administrator. 2. If you are configuring the top menu items, select the appropriate pull-down menu by clicking on the “Edit Pull-down Menu” button. 3. Click “Define Action on Selection” for the menu item on the pull-down list that you wish to link to a photo collection. You will see a screen like the one below
Select the pull-down to the right of “Photo Collection” that identifies the photo group to display. “Photo Collection” should be checked. After specifying whether the photo collection should open in a new window or the existing window (not shown in the screen above), and after specifying the types of users who will see this menu option (also not shown), click “Save Menu Action”. After you reconfigure the menus in this fashion you will need to refresh your browser before the change in menu configuration will become visible. (On some browsers, a logout and login may be required). From the time you change the settings, new visitors to your site will see the changes take effect immediately however you may not see changes until you start a new session with the server.
The procedure described above displays a collection of photos and captions where the photos are large. As shown above you can create links to other photo library views as well
