A calendar entry is an example of an "Information Event" which is the simplest event type in NeatClubs.COM. Activities entered as calendar events will have properties such as descriptions and dates and times, but most other event properties are not applicable. Information events will normally have a date and time associated with them and will appear in both the calendar as well as upcoming event listing.
When site visitors view your calendar and click on a calendar entry, they will see a more detailed description of the event if descriptive text has been supplied. Information events are assumed to have a date and time associated with them, although the time may be set to indicate that this is an “all-day” event in which case the start time will not appear on the calendar. These events may be configured as "Featured Events" so that they will show up in the Featured Events panel if you have enabled this on your web-site.
Examples of where an information posting event might be used include:
| ▪ | Indicating on your calendar that your facility is closed. |
| ▪ | Highlighting particular holidays or reminders on the calendar. |
| ▪ | Providing details of an event and exposing it on your calendar in such a way that the details are visible to others when they click on the calendar entry. |
When setting up an Information Posting event, important settings that should be specific are:
| ▪ | The “Name of the activity or Calendar Entry” |
| ▪ | Whether the event is featured or not |
For this type of event, all of the other setup options may be safely ignored.
