Enabling Payment Data Transfer Mode

Top  Previous  Next

You will need to enable Payment Data Transfer inside of your PayPal merchant account.

a.Login to the PayPal website at http://www.paypal.com  using your confidential PayPal ID (e-mail address) and password as shown below.

b.Once you are logged in, select “Profile” under the “My Account” tab.
c.Assuming that you have a merchant account, under the Selling Preferences heading, you should see an option called “Website Payment Preferences” – click on this option.
d.Set “Auto-Return” on. This instructs PayPal to return to your web-site automatically whenever a payment transaction is received.
e.Set the “Return URL” equal to the URL for your web-site followed by “/thankyou.php” to re-direct back to the appropriate thank you page on your web-site. For example, http://mycompany.com/thankyou.php

f.ensure that the optional Payment Data Transfer Feature is turned on. Note that after you turn this feature on, you will be provided with a long “Identity Token” used to authorize information retrieval from the PayPal web-site. Use the mouse to copy this text to the clipboard. (Highlight the Identity Token String with your mouse and press “Control-C” to copy it to your Windows clip-board)

g.Next, as shown below, paste this Identity Token into the NeatClubs Payment setup field (“System Setup” / “Website Layout & Preferences” / “E-Payment Setup”)  using “Control-V” in Windows, and ensure that “Enable PayPal Data Transfer” is set to “Yes” as shown.  If these settings are configured properly, PayPal should automatically re-direct users back to your web-site following registration activities, and your payment related data will be kept as secure as possible.

Make sure you remember to save the PDT settings inside of NeatClubs

With PDT setup, you're ready to configure Instant Payment Notification or IPN.
