Creating Links to other Documents |

Sometimes in a document it is useful to be able to create links to other documents. To create a link to a remote site or another page or event on your site, first highlight some text as shown below and thenselect the “Insert / Edit Hyperlink” button on the top row of the menu icons.
After you select the “Insert / Edit Hyperlink” icon, a pop-up window will appear as shown below. (Ensure that pop-up blockers in your browser allow pop-ups from your web-site. If a pop-up window does not appear it is likely that your browser is blocking pop-ups) The screen below controls where the hyperlink will "jump" to when a user clicks on the text you selected in the previous step. Down the side panel you can control whether the link is to an event or document on the website, an external web location, a place in the existing document or an e-mail address. If you want to jump to a particular document in your document library when a user selects the link, navigate to the document as shown below and click on Insert to insert the hyperlink into your text.
After pressing the Insert button, the window will close and you will see the editor again. You should now notice that when you put your mouse over the linked text it has become "live". (don't click on the link yet!) Ensure that you press “Save” to commit these changes to your web page in the document library. After this when you view the document, the link should be live, and when site visitors click on the phrase "our instructors" they will be directed to the link (in this example a document) that you've specified.
