Baseline Cost
|
This is the "baseline" cost of an event. For some types of registrations, the cost is known in advance, and for other types the cost will be determined based on selections a customer makes duration registrations.
For example summer camp costs will depend on the specific combination of dates and options that a user selects so the baseline cost would reflect these selections.
|
| • | A baseline cost may be "zero" if charges are calculated entirely on how users answer form-based questions. |
| • | Different baseline costs can be made to apply to different membership classes that web-site account holders belong to. |
| • | There are modifiers at the form level that can effect the baseline cost. (For example a quantity multiplier field on the form will take a baseline cost and multiple it by a quantity selected in a custom form involving this field type. |
| • | For classes, baseline costs will be affected in the case of late registration by the configuration pro-rate policy and exclusion dates. |
| • | Costs may also be modified using early bird discounts |
| • | For Camp Registrations, the baseline cost is ignored and is determined based on the camp setup screens. |
| • | The same is true for subscriptions. Costs are determined based on the up-front payment amount and recurring monthly payment amounts. |

Price Impacts in user-defined forms.
|
When setting up custom forms in NeatClubs, at the form level price impacts can be expressed based on how users complete interactive form elements like select dialogs, checkboxes, yes/no questions, or multiple choice selection fields.
Uplifts or discounts corresponding to how users enter questions can be expressed as positive or negative dollar amounts.
Uplifts or discounts expressed as a percentage will modify the baseline cost above.
|
| • | If the selection results in no price impact, the selection will be excluded from the list when the financial summary is presented. |

Supplementary Fee / Discount #1
|
Supplementary fees or discounts are used to explicitly modify a calculated fee based on some special conditions. They are often used to express things like membership fees as a separate line item
|
| • | Fees can be positive or negative numbers. If negative, they will be treated as a discount |
| • | Like the form-based price impact fields, they may be expressed absolute dollars or percentages of the baseline cost. |
| • | They may be configured to allow the user to over-ride the system's choice as to whether a fee or discount should apply. |
| • | The initial default state of whether the fee or discount applies can be selected. |
| • | Fees or discounts can be made dependent on whether a registrant exists in the local or a remote database. This requires that the registration form include at a minimum a FIRST_NAME, LAST_NAME and BIRTHDATE label and that an external database be configured in the system for member validation. |
| • | Fees or discounts can be either made to apply or not apply depending on whether a user is found in the database. |

Tax #1
|
The taxes are configured in the payment setup screens under "System Setup" / "Preferences" / "Payment Setup".
The names of taxes and the amounts of taxes are configured once system wide.
At the event level, in the payment setup, we simply indicate whether or not this tax should be applied to the registration cost.
|
| • | If enabled, Taxes will be applied to the baseline registration cost as well as any forms. |
| • | They will not be applied to supplementary fees or discounts. |
| • | If a supplementary fee or discounts needs to be taxable, the option should be in a form level price impact expression. |

Uplifts
|
The uplift is normally used to cover the cost of on-line payment transactions. Because of this, the uplift is applied to everything excluding taxes. The uplift is calculated "side by side" with taxes based on the uplift percentage configured in the System Setup.
Like Taxes, uplifts are configured system wide. At the event level we simply indicate whether the uplift should be applied
|
| • | Uplifts are applied to everything except taxes |
| • | Uplifts are always expressed as a percentage of a total |
| • | If a fixed dollar uplift is required, this can be achieved as a form level price impact expressed by associated a fixed dollar amount with a field like a checkbox field making the checkbox mandatory to ensure that it is slected. |
