Common Elements of NeatClubs.COM Sites
While the appearance of NeatClubs.COM varies from site to site, All NeatClubs.COM web-sites have some common elements. Among these elements are:
| • | A Header at the top of the page: The header may be re-sized to your own needs and can reference an uploaded .JPEG, .GIF or .PNG graphic. It may also incorporate a Flash file to provide animated content. NeatClubs.COM can also incorporate Flash content directly into the body of the web-site. |
| • | The sub-header area under the top system header serves as a status bar. The contents of this header may be configured in the System Setup, but the sub-header will normally include items such as the name of the organization, e-mail address, phone number and the current date. When users are logged into the site, "quick edit" icons may also appear depending on the privileges of the logged in user. As with most icons in the NeatClubs.COM system, positioning your mouse over the icon will display help text that explains what the icon does when clicked. |
| • | Pull-down menus will appear under the sub-header (as shown) or may optionally be positioned above the header or super-imposed over the header (as long as the header is not a flash element). Pull-down menus are completely customizable as we'll see later on. |
| • | Side Panel elements can also appear down the left (as shown) or down the right side of the site depending on your preferences. |
While all web-sites are essentially the same, a great deal of variance can be achieved by changing the relative dimensions of these elements, working with colors or using some of the tips related to Advanced Site Customization.
A typical site is shown below:

On the left hand side of the screen (or the right depending on your system setup) you will see menu options. Some menu options are required by the system while others can be turned on and off. You may customize these side menus as well.
When you are logged in as an administrator, you will notice that additional menu items appear including the System Setup menu referred to frequently in this manual.
The administrator can configure items to appear down the left or right hand side of the system depending on their preferences.
Some of the standard content elements that can be included on each page are:
| • | Google AdSense™ supplied advertisements |
| • | Custom Text Advertisements |
| • | Custom Graphical Advertisements |
| • | Upcoming / Featured Events |
| • | Photo Selections from the Photo Gallery |
| • | Quick Subscribe to Newsletter |
| • | Document specific photo galleries (where photos vary depending on the document being displayed) |
| • | Scrolling Site Bulletins |
| • | Up to three side panel documents (documents from the document library formatted to fit in the relatively narrow side panel columns) |
About the Main Content Area
The main content area will change as you navigate through the website from screen to screen.
By default, when you first view the website, you will be looking at a document in the document library called the “Public Home Page”. There is a separate "Member Home Page" that will appear only for users who are logged in. By having two "home" pages, the content that appears on the web-site can differ depending on whether a visitor is permitted login access to your site. If you do not want to bother with setting up different content for "members" and "non-members" (we define a member as an individual with a log-in account on the web-site) you can have both the Public and Member pages point to the same document in the document library. If you are logged in, changing the content that appears on the main page (or any page) is simply a matter of clicking on the “Edit this Document” that appears on pages that can be changed.
The system can optionally allow special effects such as scrolling slide shows, embedded flash content or "one time" flash elements that can be associated with the home page as well. Custom slide shows that draw from graphic elements in your Photo Library may either replace the text on the home page (stored in the appropriate home page document), or they may be viewed concurrently with the regular text that comprises the home page for additional flexibility.
The NeatClubs.COM Footer

Among the elements that may appear on the site footer (not all of them shown here) are:
| • | A link to a system generated site map that is helpful in guiding search engines that need to index content on the site (in addition to Google's XML format site maps) |
| • | IP addresses of the client visiting the site (a useful deterrent in some cases that reminds visitors that their activities on the site are being logged) |
| • | The address of the server (we recommend that this be disabled in most cases for security reasons) |
| • | A "report a problem link" that allows users to report problems with the site (either content related or problems with the NeatClubs.COM software itself) |
| • | A Mail Queue status that shows how many messages are queued for sending by the site (only visible to logged in users) |
| • | Special documents such as site privacy policies and terms and conditions. |
At the bottom of the site there will appear either a NeatWorx.COM icon or a NeatClubs.COM icon depending on the software configuration that you are running. For small businesses that are not clubs, NeatWorx brands the software solution as "NeatWorx.COM" - Club customers should see NeatClubs.COM appear here.
